Privacy notice
Last updated 11 September 2026.
This notice explains how personal data is handled on Divergent Products. The short version: the shop itself collects almost nothing and sets no cookies. When you click through to a retailer, that retailer's own privacy notice applies.
Who we are
Divergent Products is a trading name of HAM Agency Limited ("we", "us"), the controller of the personal data described here.
- Registered in England and Wales, company number 11265213.
- Registered office: C205 The Chocolate Factory, 5 Clarendon Road, London N22 6XJ.
- Contact for anything in this notice: theteam@ham.agency, or post to the registered office marked for the attention of the director.
We are a small business and are not required to appoint a data protection officer. Steph Hamill, our director, is responsible for how we handle personal data.
What we collect
| Where | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Browsing the shop and the guides | Nothing that identifies you. If we switch on analytics, it will be cookieless and count visits in aggregate only (see Cookies). |
| Quiet mode | Your quiet mode setting is saved in your own browser so it stays on. It never leaves your device. |
| Clicking a product link | We record nothing about you. The retailer or affiliate network records the click (see Affiliate links). |
| The Friday Find email (not open yet) | Your email address, only if you sign up and confirm. We will name the email provider in this notice before collecting a single address. |
| Emailing us | Your correspondence with us. |
| Advertising enquiries | The name, business and contact details of the person booking, and the booking. |
| Hosting | Our hosting provider keeps technical logs, including IP addresses, for a short period to keep the site secure and working. |
Please do not send us health information about yourself or your family. Nothing on the site asks for it.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Keep the site secure and working | Legitimate interests |
| Send the Friday Find | Consent: you signed up and confirmed, and you can unsubscribe from any email |
| Reply to you when you email us | Legitimate interests |
| Take and manage advertising bookings | Contract, and steps before a contract at your request |
| Keep business, tax and accounting records | Legal obligation |
| Establish or defend legal claims | Legitimate interests |
Our legitimate interests are running the shop and answering people who contact us. We have weighed these against your interests and rights, and you can object at any time (see Your rights).
The Friday Find is sent only to people who opted in. The shop sells nothing itself, so we never rely on the "soft opt-in". Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Cookies
The shop sets no cookies of its own. It does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party ad scripts. Ads on the site are plain images served by us, with no tracking.
Some product pictures are loaded directly from the maker's or retailer's own website, and the page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser asks those sites for the file, so they can see your IP address and browser type, as with any website. We do not send them anything else, and we ask your browser not to say which page you came from. We do not control what those sites then record. Amazon pictures are not loaded this way.
If we ever add anything that stores information on your device and is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.
Affiliate links
Product links are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave our site. The retailer, and the affiliate network it uses (for example Amazon Associates, Awin, Impact or PartnerStack), may set its own cookies to record that you came from us, so it can pay us a commission if you buy. That processing is theirs, under their own privacy and cookie notices, which you will see on their site.
The reports we receive from networks show clicks, order values and commission. They do not tell us your name, address or what else you bought.
Who we share it with
We never sell personal data. We share it only with providers who process it for us under written terms, and only for the purposes in this notice.
| Provider | What they do for us | Where the data may be processed |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Hosts the site | USA and Vercel's global network |
| Google (Google Workspace) | Our email | UK, EU and USA |
| Email provider for the Friday Find | Named here before sign-up opens | Named here before sign-up opens |
We may also share personal data with our professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers) under a duty of confidence, and with authorities where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified under it), or on the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. Ask us if you would like details for a particular provider.
How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Friday Find subscription | Until you unsubscribe |
| Unsubscribe list | Your email address only, kept so we do not email you again |
| Emails to us that go no further | 24 months from your last contact, then deleted |
| Advertising bookings | 6 years after the booking ends, for tax and legal reasons |
| Hosting logs | As long as our hosting provider keeps them, normally a short period |
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it, to object to how we use it (including direct marketing, which we will always respect), to ask for data you gave us in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
Email theteam@ham.agency to use any of these rights. There is normally no charge. We reply within one month, and may extend that by up to two further months for complex requests, telling you why. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
Please tell us first at theteam@ham.agency. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113, or online at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Children
The shop is written for adults, including parents shopping for their children. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when how we use personal data changes, including before the Friday Find opens. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
